My name is José M. Ozcariz Eizaguirre.
I was born in 1964 in San Sebastian, in northern Spain. I studied medicine at the Basque Country University. After finishing my studies, I went to England, where I lived and worked from 1990 to 1999.
Between 1991 and 1995 I worked at various hospitals in London region in different specialities: general medicine, cardiology, geriatrics, general surgery and orthopaedics, accident & emergency, obstetrics & gynaecology, paediatrics, etc. In 1996 I took my exams and finished my training as a GENERAL PRACTITIONER. In Austria I am registered as ARZT FÜR ALLGEMEINMEDIZIN.
Between 1996 and 1999 I worked as a General Practitioner in several Practices in London and simultaneously obtained the Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Diploma in Family Planning.
Since December 1999 I have lived permanently with my Austrian wife in Vienna. In all these years I have familiarised myself with the complexities of the Austrian Health Service.
In April 2001 I opened my first surgery or practice in the 9th district in Schwarzspanierstrasse.
2005 - 2008 I took part in a project called AMBER, which offers free medical consultations for people, mainly migrants, without medical insurance and/or legal documents.
In February 2007 I moved my practice to the Weyringergasse in the 4th district.
I regularly take part in continuous medical training and congresses. I hold an updated accreditation of the Austrian Medical Association for further medical education.
I consider myself a citizen of the world. I have lived in 3 different countries and visited many others. My friends and patients come from different parts of the world. I am very happy living in a multicultural city like Vienna.
I do speak / write Spanish, English and German fluently. These are the working languages of my practice.
